With inground pools, you have a lot more room to work with, so the sky is the limit.

However, with above ground pools, you have limited things you can do; but you can still spruce it up and make it look nice. If you have too many shrubs around the area, you may want to cut them down. The greenery needs to look nice and well manicured. It has to be appealing to the eyes.

The advantage of having this type of pool is it is not as costly as an inground pool. So, you may want to spend more on the landscaping. However, you don’t have as many designs and styles to choose from.

In fact, there are only two pool shapes: round and oval. Even with that, you can use your imagination and work around it. Because this type only requires assembly, you may not see the beauty in the form until you add some landscaping features.

If you need privacy, you can have a fence erected. Most people prefer a white one because it’s considered standard. You can also use plants to make it look nice. You can use large pots for shrubs and trees to place around the area. Or if you prefer plants, try some Japanese maples or create a perennial garden.

In regard to planting, make sure that whatever you plant is maintained on a regular basis. Otherwise, you’ll have droopy and dead plants for your landscape.
